I would hear stories about the Doctor. Amy's imaginary friend. My one true purpose. The one I was raised for. I was waiting for the moment to finally meet him, then came my chance. The first time we officially met, in the field, sirens behind me, gun in hand, ready to kill Hitler.
That was when it started, but now here I was, standing over his dying body. I did this to him, I poisoned him. It was my job, what I was raised to do. Why now was I doubting myself? I was born to kill the Doctor, and that is what I did. But now, in his last moments he calls me over and whispered into my ear. He was unexpected with everything he did, he was the sort of man you could never predict.
Maybe it was because it was fascinating, or the fact he was so knowledgeable. He taught me things in two minutes that some don't learn in a life time, and I killed him. I never had trouble with this before, I was a psychopath. At least that's what I was told, but the Doctor, in his dying moments thought of me.
In his last breaths he was only thinking of his friends safety, my safety more than his own.
I knew what I had to do as soon as I found out. I was River Song. This undesirable guilt I had came up, I knew I had to do something. I am Melody Pond. I am important. And I will be known as the woman who killed the Doctor, and then the woman who saved him.
I reached deep inside me and harnessed my regeneration power, I walked over to him his body withering in pain.
I placed my hands on his cold lifeless chest, he only had moments. For a second I froze and thought, why?Just minutes ago I was fine with killing the Doctor. But now, now I knew myself better. Now I knew I needed to do everything in my power to save him.
I pushed the regeneration power onto him, he absorbed it and I could feel the life rushing through again. I didn't ask for this, I didn't choose to be the one to kill the Doctor. But this, this I did choose. And I will always make this choice. I will always save the Doctor, no matter the cost.
For already he has taught me true sacrifices, and I plan on returning the favor.
